The Town that didn’t know Death is a small town out in the middle of nowhere. It is, in many ways, just like every other town, with one small exception: Death is not known here.
Yet Death finds its way in again and again. Here a husband leaves town earlier than expected, there an old man falls asleep in his armchair and once again Father Roberts and Doctor Warren bury a body in the woods, unnoticed by the town.
Everything stays the same. The Mayor will make sure of that.
But with the arrival of a mortician things are shaken up in ways some might have preferred to have stayed ignorant of, because Death, too, came with the 12 o’clock train.
This absurd drama deals with death, suicide, disease, community, and grief, even if the right words for those feelings are unknown.
