Meet the Town

An oblivious octet, three in the know,
one newcomer, and a visitor

I wonder when the last person was buried here. […] Yet they still informed me. Official letter and everything.

Jonathan Wells

The Newcomers

The Townsfolk

Death / Mors

Alpine Simon Kühn (he/they)

They came with the twelve o’clock train. There will be work for them to do. But they are also happy to take time to enjoy the weather and the local food and the people — in one way or another…

About Alpine:

I study geoarcheology and I’m very active in a club that does medieval reenactment and larp. If time allows beside that, I also like writing, worldbuilding, tabletop rpgs and hiking a lot.

Jonathan Wells

Jonah Cedric Thielmann (he/him)

Entering town with the deed to his late uncle’s home and a determination to find his professional footing there, he soon gets pulled into a mystery that he cannot explain: the fact that no one knows about the nature of his work. On top of that, an enigmatic stranger dressed in all white, one that Jonathan has seen many times before, keeps appearing, just out of his reach…

About Jonah:

When I am not working in the nuclear industry, I read a lot, or sing and listen to music. I also discovered bookbinding and sewing as crafty hobbies. Other than this I am a huge history buff with particular interest in ancient Egypt, the middle ages and the early renaissance always trying to decipher some texts I can find. And of course, the important bit last: I really enjoy theatre and musical theatre, be it on, behind or in front of the stage.

Funnily enough, more than once have I considered becoming a mortician.

Father Stephen Roberts

Francis Hyperion Krüger (he/him)

As the pious heart-piece of the community, or so he believes, the Vicar has been a guiding figure in sheltering the town from knowing Death and its consequences. Met with a deadly diagnosis in the beginning of the play, he seeks to be an authority of change of a system he helped propagate.

About Hyperion:

Outside of Town I’m an English student and enjoy playing piano, reading, making all sorts of (performance-) art, ttrpgs and climbing.

Charles Denvers / Jasper Arnold

James Anthony Dahmes (he/him)

Charles Denvers

One man, one order. Long ago, an agreement was reached that Charles Denvers now upholds with all his might.

Although, who can say if it is for the good of the town or to sooth his own fears. For the mayor, it seems that fear is leading him in his decisions.

Jasper Arnold

Jasper Arnolds lives for the simple pleasures of a nice letter, a good train, and a pretty young lady. He approaches nearly all his dealings with very little thought and a lot of enthusiasm, although there is that cough that won’t go away…. Even Jasper Arnolds has his troubles.

About James:

When I don’t study for my Master’s degree in Global History, I entertain 101 different side quests. Through my involvement in several research projects I can finance my studies at large. I am interested in DnD, cowboys, gym, wolves, cosplay, and alt fashion.

When workdays are over, you can find me strolling through woods and old castle ruins, and — occasionally — sleeping.

Arabella Whitlow-Thompson

Nele Kiau (she/her)

Mrs. Arabella Whitlow-Thompson has never heard the term widow in her life and even if she had she would never think to apply it to herself.

Mors

Young, beautiful and deeply in love, Arabella has always led a life of predictable, small-town comfort. Were it not for her husband’s sudden departure, she would very much have been content with things staying exactly as they were. She desperately tries to hold onto that vision as the world she knows changes faster than she can handle.

About Nele:

Outside of “Town”, I have actually enjoyed acting so much that I studied it at the “Theaterakademie Mannheim” for the past three and a half years. I just finished my diploma and am currently preparing to (hopefully) study classical voice next, since I have always loved opera and singing in general. Other than singing, I also like to play the violin and in my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, baking and learning about different languages (mostly through thorough consumption of films and television series of all sorts).

Dr. Jasmine Warren

Gesine Sophie Henning (she/her)

After a rocky start, the town’s doctor has found stability and community in a town where she can focus on the more enjoyable parts of her work: helping people. Or so she thought… Keeping such a great secret has taken its toll on the doctor and — more than once — she has considered leaving it all behind, if it weren’t for some members of the town.

About Gesine:

Im training to be a lawyer, additionally I enjoy doing all sorts of fibercrafts, medieval swordfighting, and boardgames that require more luck than skill!

Constable Leon Finnegan

Leo Winnemöller (he/him)

In a quiet town with little crime, the young Constable often feels like there is little work for him to do… While his career could be more exciting, the failing health of his father and his relationship with Dr. Warren are more than complicated enough to fill his days with worry. Happy-go-lucky, he likes all his fellow townspeople, even if most of them are horrible gossips.

About Leo:

I like to read, gaming, sports, sleep, and ignoring my academic anxiety.

Sarah Downing

Myriam Thürigen (she/her)

In a town that seems quite content the way it is, Sarah is an outsider. Left by her father, she struggles to connect to her mother and the adults in her life that don’t understand her frustration and sorrow. She feels lost without a way to label her feelings and expression, pushed to the sidelines in a town that isn’t used to the other.

There are words to describe the way she feels, but they are foreign to this town… much like one of the newcomers.

About Myriam:

I study European Art History at the Universität Heidelberg, am a photographer by training and passion, and my Vanillekipferl are coveted enough to pass for currency in most social groups

Elizabeth Downing

Luise Spitzer (she/her)

Abandoned by her husband and left to raise a teenage daughter that doesn’t talk to her, Elizabeth spends most of her days cashing the simple pleasures of life: a good piece of pie, judgemental drags of cigarettes, and the newest hot gossip. When two handsome young strangers enter town, she is overjoyed by the newest developments, almost enough to notice the change around her.

About Luise:

I enjoy sewing, DnD, Linguistics, (board-) gaming, cooking.

Nina Harlow

Stef Kimmeskamp (they/them)

When she steps out of the pig pen with her bloodied apron, Nina might feel a little odd about what she just did. Then, she puts the apron to the place it belongs and returns to her calm life with her loving husband and lovely pigs. She is the butcher, but she doesn’t know what that means. Not fully.

About Stef:

When not on stage I enjoy handcrafts, reading, video games, going for hikes, learning more about paleontology and how the world works.

Richard Scott

Philip Lewe (he/him)

An old man at the eve of his life, left with anger and inability to answer why his son, wife and friends all left him. He alone remains — Yearning for an end that he does not even know exists. Grief is a terrible thing. Not knowing Death took the grief from him and replaced it with resentment for each and every thing. And that is much worse.

About Philip:

I study English and German at Heidelberg University. Beyond that I love storytelling, hanging out with friends, and the Fantasy Genre in general — I guess that coalesced into my love for TTRPGs at some point…

George Harlow

Victor Tvrdy (he/him)

George is just a normal guy. He loves his family, loves his friends, enjoys opening up his silly little grocery store every day and genuinely hopes everyone around him is having a good time.

About Victor:

I work a job in science and technology. In my free time I enjoy climbing rocks, drinking coffee and taking photos.
